Yahya al-Sanwar: The continuation of the ceasefire depends on the behavior of the occupying regime in the coming days

The head of Hamas’ political bureau in Gaza called the recent ceasefire agreement “fragile” and said that its continuation would be conditional on the behavior of the Zionist regime in the coming days.

Yahya al-Senwar, head of Hamas’ political bureau in Gaza, told the Anatolia news agency that the recently agreed ceasefire was “fragile” and did not address the root of the problem.

He added: What has been agreed upon is a reciprocal and simultaneous ceasefire between the parties. It all depends on the behavior of the occupying regime in the coming days.

Al-Sanwar added that this depends on the pressure of the international community and the world on the occupying regime in order for the regime to abide by the resolutions and international law, as well as to respect the rights of the Palestinians.

He stressed that if the Zionist regime stops encroaching on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian people everywhere, naturally this fire can be extended but if the enemy violates our sanctities, desecrates Al-Aqsa Mosque again, and tries again to evict the people of “Sheikh Jarrah” from their homes, this fire will be destroyed.

Al-Sanwar continued that the ball is now in the court of the occupying regime and is expected to abide by international law. The world is also expected to stop this regime from continuing its aggression against the Palestinian people.

He spoke about the recent 12-day conflict between the Palestinian resistance and the Zionist regime, it is true that the Zionist enemy committed many crimes and killings against the Palestinian people, but the Mujahideen of Al-Qassam Brigades are on the trigger; “We are at the peak of our readiness to support Al-Aqsa Mosque and Sheikh Jarrah.”

Al-Sanwar said in response to the Israeli regime’s accusations to Hamas that it fired missiles blindly: In the Palestinian resistance, we defend our rights, our sanctities and our nation. Missiles are nothing but a tool to force the enemy not to invade our sanctuaries.

He went on to point out the broad solidarity with the Palestinians in the recent war and said: Today, we feel that we are not alone in Palestine and that Al-Aqsa Mosque is not alone.

Al-Senwar also said in a media interview yesterday (Wednesday) that the Palestinian resistance could fire hundreds of missiles with a range of 200 kilometers in one minute.
