UNICEF: More than 11,000 Yemeni children have been victims

Pak Sahafat – The statistical report of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) shows that the number of Yemeni children who are victims of the aggression of the Saudi coalition in Yemen has exceeded 11,000.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, quoting Ahed news site, after visiting Yemen this month, Catherine Russell, the executive director of UNICEF, said: Yemeni children pay the highest cost of the war. For these children, life has become a struggle for survival. The war has claimed thousands of lives and hundreds of thousands more are still at risk.

According to UNICEF statistics, a total of 3,774 Yemeni children have been martyred and 7,245 children have been injured.

UNICEF has added that 62 children have been martyred or wounded in Yemen since the end of the recent ceasefire, and at least 74 of the 164 people who died due to cluster bombs and ammunition remnants in Yemen are children.

The UNICEF report states: These are only the statistics that the United Nations has been able to verify, but the real statistics are probably much higher.

As a result of the aggression of the Saudis with the support of some Western countries and Western countries, led by the United States and England, two thousand and 909 people, including African immigrants, have been martyred since the beginning of this year following the Saudi army’s artillery and missile attacks on the border areas of Saada province.

Abdulla Mosare, head of “Razeh Al-Raifi” hospital, also announced in a statement: since the signing of the UN ceasefire agreement at the beginning of this year, more than 907 people have been martyred or injured due to Saudi fire, cannons and missiles in the “Shada” border area.

He stated that during this period, this hospital recorded 111 martyrs and 796 injured, including African immigrants, and emphasized: Since the signing of the ceasefire and after that, there has been no change in the criminal behavior of the Saudi regime, but the border areas are the scene of intensified shelling of citizens’ homes and farms, and public and private property.

Moser stated: Due to the inability of Razeh Al-Raifi Hospital to provide necessary services for critical cases, many wounded were transferred to other hospitals and Sana’a.

Ali Al-Ayashi, the head of Manbeh Al-Raifi Hospital, also stated in this regard: This hospital has admitted 169 martyrs and 2833 wounded, including African immigrants, during this year.

Al-Ayashi pointed out that the Saudi enemy continues its crimes against Yemenis and immigrants, and said: In many cases, the condition of the people who are brought to the hospital is critical, so emergency services are provided to them and to hospitals in the province.

Al-Ayashi added: The people who are admitted suffer from various injuries caused by shrapnel from mortars and machine guns, or from electric shocks and torture with acid, which the Saudi regime has used against them.

Saudi Arabia, in the form of a coalition of several Arab countries, including the UAE, and with the help and green light of the United States and the support of the Zionist regime, started large-scale attacks against Yemen – the poorest Arab country – from April 6, 2014.

After 7 years of invading Yemen and killing thousands of people and destroying the country’s infrastructure, these countries not only did not achieve their goals, but they were forced to accept a cease-fire following the missile and drone strikes of the Yemeni armed forces deep into their territory.

The ceasefire in Yemen, which has been repeatedly violated by the aggressor Saudi coalition, was extended once before following UN consultations. The 2-month extension of this ceasefire ended on August 11, which was extended again and ended on October 10.
