UNICEF: Eleven thousand Yemeni children have been killed or maimed as a result of the war

Pak Sahafat – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that since the beginning of Saudi Arabia’s military attack against Yemen, more than eleven thousand Yemeni children have been killed or injured.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report the UNICEF report states: The true statistics of this war are probably much higher. Thousands of children have lost their lives and hundreds of thousands more are at risk of dying from starvation and preventable diseases.

According to a UNICEF report, about 2.2 million Yemeni children are severely malnourished, a quarter of whom are under the age of five, and many of them are at risk of contracting cholera, measles, and other vaccine-preventable diseases.

The Saudi military attack on Yemen began in 2014, and during this time, hundreds of thousands of people have died due to direct conflicts or due to indirect effects, including contaminated water, disease outbreaks, and starvation.

The latest UNICEF report indicates that 3,774 Yemeni children have died between March 2015 and September 2022.

It should be noted that UNICEF has requested $484.4 million in aid to fight the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
