The United States has fined a German company for violating Iranian sanctions

The United States on Friday fined a German software company for violating harsh sanctions against Iran.

According to Hill, the German software company (SAP SE) has agreed to pay more than $ 8 million as a settlement with the US Department of Justice, Commerce and the US Treasury Department.

The company has admitted to thousands of violations of the rules of the Export Office and the rules of transactions and sanctions of Iran.

The German company also said in a statement that we take full responsibility for past behavior and have increased our internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Under former President Donald Trump, the United States imposed harsh and unilateral sanctions on Iran by pulling out of the UN Security Council nuclear deal.

The Biden administration has so far failed to deliver on its promises, despite promises made during the 2020 election campaign that it would return to the nuclear deal that Trump withdrew from.
