The United States and ISIS are the two scissors of the “electricity war” against Iraq

Elements of the ISIS terrorist group are destroying the Iraqi electricity network in line with the US plan to put pressure on the Iraqi people through power outages; this is in the interest of Washington’s conspiracies.

The Iraqi Al-Hashd al-Shabi (People’s Mobilization) organization announced on Sunday that it had succeeded in thwarting ISIL terrorists’ attempts to blow up power towers south of Nineveh.

The group said in a statement that forces from the 25th Al-Hashd Division did not allow ISIL elements to destroy an electricity tower in southern Nineveh province.

In a security operation, al-Hashd al-Shabi forces discovered and confiscated three improvised explosive devices planted to destroy a Nineveh power tower, Al-Ayyam news network reported, quoting al-Hashd.

These hot summer days, the electricity crisis and its outage have become one of the most important problems for the Iraqi people. Many experts, however, have blamed US blockades and ISIS sabotage efforts for the power outage.

The United States is the biggest winner of the electricity war in Iraq

“The United States is the biggest winner in the electricity war in Iraq,” Uday al-Khudran, a leader of Iraq’s al-Fatah parliamentary coalition, said Saturday.

“The United States has opposed any real development of the electricity system since 2003 and has stopped [German] companies and other countries,” al-Khedran told Al-Maluma. All of this indicates that Washington is pushing for the problems of 40 million Iraqis to continue.”

He emphasized: “Attacking the Iraqi electricity system by targeting power towers is not accidental; “It’s a multi-dimensional, organized plan by the United States that makes the most of its consequences.”

The Iraqi diplomat noted that there are plans through the electricity war in Iraq, but these plans will not be implemented: “Al-Hashd al-Shabi forces should be more involved in projects to support electricity systems.”

“The electricity issue in Iraq is a political issue run by the United States and it intends to weaken Iraq and hinder its progress,” said Mohammad Abu al-Hail, a member of the Iraqi Oil and Energy Commission.

Abu al-Hail told the Baghdad Al-Youm news website that the United States is playing a key role in the deterioration of Iraq’s electric situation, most recently with pressure on Germany’s Siemens to leave Iraq.

In related news, the Iraqi government announced on Saturday that at least seven people had been killed and 11 others injured in various attacks on the country’s electric grid in various areas. The attacks destroyed at least 61 main lines of the country’s national electricity grid.

A few days ago, some informed sources announced the resignation of the Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Majid Mehdi Hantoush, due to the lack of electricity needed by Iraqi citizens in the summer, and announced that the Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, had also agreed to the resignation.
