The Saudis are angry at Michel Aoun’s remarks about insulting a Saudi journalist

Meanwhile, Salman al-Ansari, a Saudi journalist and military analyst, republished Aoun’s remarks, saying that the Lebanese president meant the Saudi journalist personally.

The Lebanese president’s remarks about the Saudi journalist insulting him in a live broadcast provoked a sharp reaction from the Saudi princes.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, quoted by CNN Saudi Prince Sattam bin Khalid al-Saud tweeted in response to remarks by Lebanese President Michel Aoun about insulting a Saudi journalist: “This is a strange statement, is this journalist the official spokesman for Saudi Arabia?”

He added: Has he (Michel Aoun) forgotten the dozens of Lebanese journalists and ministers who insulted Saudi Arabia? Even Nasrallah (Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General), his ally, has repeatedly insulted Saudi Arabia.

Another Saudi prince, Abdul Rahman bin Masaad bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, tweeted: “This reporter is not a government official, and his opinion reflects his personal opinion, not the government’s.”

He added: If a comparison is to be made, this comparison is not correct, and the one who has insulted Saudi Arabia is the Lebanese ministers, and ask Al-Mayadin, Al-Manar and Al-Akhbar about the Lebanese journalists insulting Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Salman al-Ansari, a Saudi journalist and military analyst, republished Aoun’s remarks, saying that the Lebanese president meant the Saudi journalist personally.

He claimed in a statement that he was disgusted: “It seems that I mean Michel Aoun, and that’s why I’re making future statements; If your ally, Hezbollah, missiles against Saudi Arabia do not require any action on your part, and the statements of your official ministers against Saudi Arabia do not deserve any action! So I declare that you and your corrupt son-in-law (Basil’s compensation) are not an “arrogant couple”, but a “miserable couple”.

The reactions came after Lebanese President Michel Aoun said in an interview with Al Jazeera after meeting with the Emir of Qatar: I did nothing against the Saudi reporter when he insulted me live.
