The disintegration of two new terrorist networks in Iraq

Iraqi sources reported the dismantling of two terrorist networks that planned terrorist acts in Baghdad and some other provinces of the country.

According to Baghdad Al-Youm, the Iraqi Security Intelligence Agency announced the dismantling of two terrorist networks that planned to carry out explosions in Baghdad and some other Iraqi provinces in what is known as the “Eid campaign.”

A statement from the Iraqi Security Information Agency said: In order to pursue terrorist groups and remnants of ISIL and their tormentors and loyalty to the pure blood of the martyrs that was shed in Al-Wahilat Bazaar in Sadr City and other parts of Iraq, and according to intelligence and security pursuits, two terrorist networks in Kirkuk and Anbar provinces disintegrated.

The statement emphasized: The two networks were responsible for the July 19 bombings in Sadr City. The two networks sought to carry out terrorist attacks in Baghdad, especially in the Al-Bab al-Sharqi area, as well as targeting innocent people in other parts of Baghdad and some provinces in the framework of the so-called “Eid campaign”, but their nefarious plan failed, they were arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities to be punished for their actions.

Three terrorists arrested in Anbar and Salah al-Din provinces

In this regard, Iraqi security sources reported the arrest of three terrorists in the Iraqi provinces of Salah al-Din and Anbar.

The Iraqi Security Information Unit said in a statement: The military intelligence forces of the Ministry of Defense noticed the presence of three terrorists, two of whom were in Anbar and the third in Salah al-Din.

The statement said: The intelligence forces immediately intervened and arrested them in al-Saqlawiyah in Fallujah and at the Shahid Os checkpoint at the entrance to Anbar.

The Iraqi Security Information Agency announced:  A third terrorist was arrested in the Al-Jumhuriyah area of ​​Al-Dujail district in Salah al-Din province.

Security alert in Diyala

Mohammad al-Tamimi, one of the commanders of the Iraqi popular uprising, announced that the popular uprising was on alert in the al-Saadiyah area in northeastern Diyala after a civilian was killed, one was wounded and another was abducted in the area.

He added: Iraqi security forces and a popular mobilization conducted a large-scale search of the area to find out the perpetrators of the attacks.

Clashes between Peshmerga forces and the PKK in Duhok

An Iraqi security source reported clashes between Iraqi Kurdistan Region Peshmerga forces and PKK elements in Dohuk province.

The security source said: Clashes broke out between the two sides after PKK elements fired on Peshmerga forces in the town of Al-Emadiyah.

Noting that the clash lasted half an hour, he said that no information was available about the casualties of the clash.

ISIS hideout discovered in Salah al-Din

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Information Office announced the discovery of two ISIS hideouts in Salah al-Din: This happened during the operation in the areas of “Al-Jawza”, “Abu Harat”, “Al-Bumenfi” and the village of “Al-Salam” and after receiving information.

ISIS used these two hideouts for logistical purposes.

The role of branch rallies in thwarting attacks on power towers

“Sadegh al-Husseini,” the spokesman for the Diyala axis of the Iraqi popular uprising, said: The popular rally information has played a significant role in thwarting many attacks on major power towers in Diyala in recent months. Important clues have been obtained that will be announced soon.

He added: The popular uprising has carried out surprise operations against ISIL remnants in recent months, pursuing terrorists seeking to target power towers.

Al-Husseini said: Three attacks were neutralized. ISIL aimed to sabotage and damage government property in order to increase the suffering of residents.

He added: More than 200 km of important power transmission lines in Diyala are supported by a popular rally.
