Terrible explosion in the port of Dubai under the shadow of the UAE oil dispute with Riyadh

A merchant ship exploded in the port of Jabal Ali in Dubai on Thursday morning as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates clashed over increased oil production and exports.

Local sources reported unconfirmed reports Thursday morning of a massive explosion in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

Al Jazeera quoted Reuters as saying that a terrible explosion was heard in Dubai, but the cause of the explosion was unknown.

The Telegram channel “SabrinoNews” also published this picture, quoting local sources: “It is said that the port of Jabal Ali has been targeted.”

The Iraqi source reported: “The explosion took place near the Clubhouse area. Preliminary reports indicate that oil tanks in the port are being targeted. “The port of Jabal Ali includes an American-owned air base.”

The blast came a day after Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates clashed over rising oil production and exports at the OPEC Plus summit, according to Sabrinews.

Yesterday, Saudi Arabia gave the green light to “Ali al-Mohsen” forces to attack Aden and confront the factions of the UAE-affiliated Transitional Council.

Emirati media also reported: “The fire was caused by a targeted explosion in the south of Dubai, near the fuel tanks. A fire broke out on a merchant ship docked in the port of Jabal Ali.”

The Associated Press also wrote: “An explosion in the port of Jabal Ali shook many houses in the city. No one was injured in the fire that broke out on the ship in the port of Jabal Ali in Dubai.”

Dubai’s ruling media office also announced: “Civil defense teams are extinguishing a fire caused by a container explosion in the port of Jabal Ali.”

Simultaneously with the explosion, Saudi social media users launched a campaign to boycott products imported from the UAE with the hashtag “Jabal Ali” and called on their country’s officials to boycott goods imported from the UAE, also claiming that these goods are of poor quality, corrupt and counterfeit.
