Saudi Foreign Minister: We welcome talks with Iran / Riyadh condition for normalization of relations with Tel Aviv

In an interview with an Italian newspaper, the Saudi foreign minister discussed Iran and Palestine, saying that his country welcomes talks with Tehran.

According to Al-Jazeera, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan told the Italian newspaper Larpublika that Saudi Arabia is open to talks with Iran and that Riyadh welcomed it; But Tehran must prove its commitment to ensuring security and stability in the region.

He went on to stress that the Saudi-Iranian stance on the recent talks between the two sides, which began a few months ago in Iraq, was positive.

According to the report, the Saudi foreign minister expressed hope that the recent talks with Iran would lead to the closure of previous disputes.

Faisal bin Farhan continued the usual accusations of the Saudis against the Islamic Republic of Iran that now, his country’s first concern is Iran’s support for “militias and non-governmental groups” in the region, especially the “Yemeni Houthis” and Hezbollah in Iraq, and Saudi Arabia tends to see a significant change in Iran’s approach.

Last week, the US and Saudi foreign ministers discussed strengthening coordination between the two countries to stop what is allegedly Iranian involvement in the region.

The Saudi and US foreign ministers also discussed stopping Iran’s support for Ansarullah in Yemen.

The two sides claimed Iran’s false support for terrorist groups in the region, which, according to the legitimate governments of Iraq and Syria, Iran was the first country to help fight Western-Hebrew-Arab-backed terrorists from Damascus and Baghdad against takfiri and terrorist groups.

Asked about the conditions under which Saudi Arabia could recognize Israel, Faisal bin Farhan said that the priority was for Israel and Palestine to return to the negotiating table.
