Saudi Arabia abolishes the condition for the corona vaccine for Umrah pilgrims

Saudi sources announced in a new instruction that the condition for receiving corona vaccine for Umrah pilgrims has been lifted.

According to the Pak Sahafat news agency, quoted by Okaz newspaper, Saudi Arabia has issued new instructions for participating in the Umrah pilgrimage.

According to the new guidelines, pilgrims who have not received the corona vaccine or whose vaccination has not been completed can enter the Sacred Mosque and the Prophetic Mosque and participate in congregational prayers.

Unvaccinated people can also perform Umrah if they do not have corona virus.

Saudi Arabia has previously said it would allow Umrah pilgrims to foreigners if they received the full dose of one of the “Pfizer, Astraznka or Modern or Johnson” vaccines. Of course, the travel regulations stated that travelers and pilgrims who have injected two full doses of “Sinofarm” or “Sinovac” vaccine, if they receive an additional dose of one of the four types of vaccine approved in Saudi Arabia can travel to this country, so the Iranian Hajj authorities had asked the pilgrims to consider these rules to receive the third dose.

A few days ago, however, an official in the Saudi Interior Ministry stressed that, given the country’s achievements in the fight against Corona and the progress in vaccination and increasing the collective safety ratio, it was decided that all preventive measures and protocols related to the fight against Corona Stop.

According to this new instruction, the observance of social distance in the Masjid al-Haram and the Masjid al-Nabawi and other mosques throughout Saudi Arabia will be abolished, and only the use of masks will remain.

Also, the observance of social distance in indoor and outdoor places and in all collective activities and programs is abolished and the use of masks in the open air is no longer necessary.

The other seven clauses of this instruction do not require you to submit a negative corona test to enter Saudi territory and instead undertake to pay all medical expenses in case of corona in Saudi territory.

According to this instruction, passengers entering Saudi Arabia will no longer have to go to quarantine, and the suspension of Saudi flights to all countries, including 17 African and Islamic countries, will be lifted.

The Saudi Interior Ministry has also made it mandatory to have insurance to cover the cost of treatment for Covid-19 and announced the end of the suspension of flights to countries that had already taken place. In addition, after two years of restrictions, children under the age of five are allowed to attend the two mosques of Medina and Mecca.

Earlier this fall, Saudi Arabia resumed the gradual reception of foreign pilgrims after a 20-month ban, removing the social gap at the Masjid al-Haram, but with the Omicron epidemic, reception of foreign pilgrims was again restricted and stopped in some countries.
