Preparation of Arafat and Mena tents for Hajj pilgrims in 2023

Pak Sahafat – The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia announced that Arafat Hajj and Mina tents are being prepared for Hajj pilgrims in 2023 and due to the heat of the air in Saudi Arabia, the number of cooling devices in the tents has increased.

According to the report of the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia announced that about 350,000 Mena and Arafat tents of different sizes have been prepared for Hajj pilgrims in 2023.

“Hatem Ghazi”, the deputy and official spokesperson of the Ministry of Hajj of Saudi Arabia, announced that the number of tents in Arafat is more than 200 thousand and in Mina 150 thousand in different sizes, and that the readiness of these tents to serve the pilgrims of Hajj 2023 has been confirmed.

He emphasized that the necessary equipment for receiving God’s guests has been completed in the dedicated space where everything the pilgrims need to perform rituals has been completed. Pilgrims to Makkah will stay in more than 4,300 licensed accommodations.

This year, due to the increase in air temperature in Saudi Arabia on the eve of the Hajj season, Saudi officials have recommended increasing the number of cooling devices in the tents so that the pilgrims do not suffer from heat stroke.

In recent years, the Saudi government has made significant investments in improving the infrastructure and facilities for pilgrims, which includes the construction of new roads, the development of the Grand Mosque, and the improvement of the transportation system.

On the other hand, various media announced that the first flights carrying foreign pilgrims from India, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Pakistan will arrive at the airports of Saudi Arabia today.

“Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz” International Airport in Madinah is the first airport that welcomes pilgrims to the House of God this year.

The Saudi Arabian Airlines announced that the flights of the country’s airlines to transport Hajj pilgrims started on May 21 and will continue until June 22.

The date of performing Hajj rituals will be from the 8th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, corresponding to June 25th, while the Hajj will continue until the fourth day of Eid al-Adha on 13th Dhu al-Hijjah, June 30th.

Saudi Arabia announced that pilgrims must inject these vaccines in the appropriate period before the start of Hajj rituals to be effective. These vaccines include the quadruple meningitis, pneumococcal, and hepatitis A and B vaccines. Meningitis, measles and mumps, yellow fever and influenza vaccines are seasonal.

Meanwhile, Abdul Fattah Mashat, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, in an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, emphasized that the number of pilgrims who come to this country from outside Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj rituals has returned to the figures before the outbreak of the Corona virus.

He added: 2 million Muslims outside Saudi Arabia from all over the world and 200 thousand people from inside Saudi Arabia can perform Hajj rituals.

This year, 87,550 Iranians will visit God’s house. Following the increase in the quota of some Islamic countries, negotiations are underway to increase Iran’s quota to 100,000, which has not been definitively stated.

Earlier, Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Fazli, the Minister of Water and Agriculture and the head of the Saudi Food Safety Commission, announced that the number of pilgrims this year will increase compared to the last 3 years due to the decrease in the number of people infected with the corona virus.

A few days ago, Amer Al Khashil, CEO of the Hajj and Umrah Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines, announced that this year, 6 airports will be allocated to welcome pilgrims for the first time during Hajj 1444 AH.

He emphasized that Saudi Arabian Airlines will transport pilgrims through at least 100 airports around the world, and they will be transferred to the airports of Medina, Al-Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanba, and Taif.

Last year, Saudi Arabia welcomed more than 900,000 pilgrims to the House of God due to the restrictions imposed due to the corona virus, but this year, it announced that nearly 2 million pilgrims will perform Hajj.

Last year, 899,353 pilgrims performed Hajj. In 1441 and 1442, Saudi Arabia decided to hold the Hajj Tamattu with the presence of pilgrims living in Saudi Arabia.
