The representative of the Al-Fatah coalition in the Iraqi parliament says that the continued presence of the United States in this country will prolong the life of terrorist groups, including ISIS.
Mohammad al-Bayati, one of the leaders of the Al-Fatah coalition in the Iraqi parliament, stated that the US presence in Iraq contributes to the prolongation of the life of terrorist organizations in this country.
In an interview with Al-Ma’loumeh news website, he stated: The terrorist group ISIS is the enemy of all spectrums in Iraq, and its brutal crimes in the areas it attacked are the best proof of this. If there were no Americans, al-Hashd al-Shabi and other Iraqi security organizations could have destroyed this terrorist organization and ended the conflict with it sooner.
Al-Bayati added: During our patrols with the security forces and the popular uprising, we saw the clear support of the United States for ISIS and other terrorist organizations, both in Iraq and in other countries. Support for ISIS continues, and that is the secret to the continued activities of its silent nuclei.
Despite the announcement of Iraq’s victory over ISIS in 2017 and the continuation of cleansing operations in the areas liberated from the presence of terrorists, a number of elements and silent nuclei of this terrorist group are still active in some areas of Diyala, Kirkuk, Nineveh, Salahuddin, Al-Anbar and Baghdad provinces.
