Incomplete Saudi infrastructure projects due to corruption

Disputes between the bureaucracies, as well as corruption and bribery, have prevented the completion of Saudi infrastructure projects, which Saudi citizens have protested.

Issues related to financial and administrative corruption are hampering the completion of infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, including the King Abdullah Road Development Project, located north of the city of Mobaraz.

A Saudi engineer working on the project said corruption, embezzlement and other issues are still hampering the completion of King Abdullah Road, which was supposed to be handed over last shawwal month.

The Saudi engineer, who did not want to be named, added: Severe disputes between bureaucracies are also hampering the completion of the project, and the current crisis is expected to continue.

Saudi citizens complain that King Abdullah Road in the north of Mobaraz is not completed; because the obstruction and delay in the implementation of road works has led to the accumulation of vehicles in a lane, after the closure of the route from south to north. Also, the traffic is very heavy, which in case of a car accident, the traffic remains completely constant.

Saudi citizens also complain about the absence of officials on the road and the failure to open sections of the blocked road for traffic.

A video clip previously showed the poor infrastructure inside the Tabuk governorate leading to the city of Naum, which Saudi Arabia is building despite international warnings.
