How many people have nominated them for the presidency of Iraq?

Although the presidency in Iraq is a ceremonial post, the quest for the post has intensified significantly in recent hours.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, while the rivalry between the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan continues over the candidate for the post, long lists of independent personalities have also nominated themselves for the post, including a woman.

Meanwhile, the Al-Ahd website reported that the Coalition for the Rule of Law, on behalf of the Coordination Framework, stated that it was opposed to the conscious candidacy of Zebari for the presidency.

Arif al-Hamami, a member of the Iraqi parliament from the coalition of the rule of law, announced this position to this information base: The coordination framework is in the coalition-making stage, and if its frameworks are clearly formed and this structure is created, then we will examine the letters of the candidate for this position and we will reach the letters that are acceptable to all.

According to him, where are those who shouted “it is wrong to test the tested”, and in this context, we are also opposed to the sober candidacy of Zebari for the presidency.

It is worth mentioning that while Hoshyar Zebari has been nominated by the Democratic Party of Kurdistan of Iraq as a candidate for the presidency, the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan continues to insist on the candidacy of the current president, Barham Saleh.

Meanwhile, female presidential candidate Shilan Fouad said she hopes to be the first woman to become president of Iraq through a break with tradition, as she believes women are as capable of running the country as men.

In her statement, Shilan Fouad stressed that she is trying to become the first independent woman to represent the Iraqi people as president.

So far, 26 candidates have registered for the Iraqi presidency, 11 of whom are Kurdish political figures, and Shilan Fouad is one of them.
