Former Kuwait opposition representative returns to his country after Amiri pardons

Al-Muslim announced his return to Kuwait in the early hours of Monday morning after leaving for Istanbul airport.

News sources reported the amnesty of the accused for attacking the Kuwaiti parliament in 2011 by the emir and his return to his country.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, Eram News announced today (Tuesday) Faisal al-Muslim, a former member of the opposition and accused of attacking the Kuwaiti parliament in 2011, returned to his country on Monday evening after being pardoned by Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the country’s emir.

Al-Muslim announced his return to Kuwait in the early hours of Monday morning after arriving at Istanbul airport, but it was later announced that the plane would be delayed for several hours due to strong winds.

In July 2018, the Kuwaiti judiciary sentenced a number of former activists and members of parliament, including Muslim, to life in prison on charges of attacking parliament in November 2011 during a demonstration demanding the resignation of the then Prime Minister; However, most of these defendants went to Turkey and the court rulings were not enforced against them.
