Former head of Mossad: Iran’s proximity to Egypt and Saudi Arabia threatens Israel’s position

Pak Sahafat – The former head of Mossad, while expressing concern about Iran’s close relations with Egypt and Saudi Arabia, said that Iran’s proximity to countries in the region, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, threatens Israel’s position in the Middle East.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, “Tamir Pardo” said (Wednesday) at the “Herzliya” security conference in the occupied Palestinian territories: Iran’s proximity to countries in the region, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, puts Israel’s position in the Middle East under threat and danger.

He added: “Recently, we saw that Saudi Arabia came close to Iran, and talks with the UAE are ongoing, and we are witnessing the relations of some countries with Syria, the UAE, Jordan, and now with Egypt.”

According to the report of Russia Elium, Pardo added: “The biggest threat to Israel is internal division and disunity, and after the recent elections, a gang was formed that tries to govern Israel against the direction of Zionist ideals.”

Referring to the continuation of the opposition’s protests against Netanyahu’s cabinet, he said: When we look at what happened five months ago, we see that Israel’s biggest defeat has occurred on the international stage.

The former head of Mossad continued: “Israel” is moving towards autocracy, and this is not because the majority wants it, but because someone is playing with the political system.

Earlier, “Yair Lapid”, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, had warned the cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about any rapprochement between Iran and Egypt and wrote in a tweet: The closeness of Egypt and Iran is in conflict with our interests in the region.

Earlier, the Hebrew newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” revealed that, while Tehran is publicly demanding the restoration of relations with Egypt, at the same time, “Israel” has put pressure on the government of Cairo to prevent this convergence and closer relations with Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir abdollahian said on Sunday that “we hope to witness a great opening in Iran’s relations with Egypt.” In this regard, the dialogue with the Egyptian side is ongoing, and relations with Egypt are important for us.

Amir Abdollahian noted: We hope that within the framework of Raeesi’s government’s vision to develop relations with the countries of the region, with the friendly and brotherly country of Egypt, which we give priority to relations with this country in our foreign policy, we hope to witness new and mutual steps being taken.

He added: We should not act on the basis of speculation, but as we have already announced many times, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to develop relations with its neighbors and Islamic countries.

On the other hand, Fadahosein Maliki, a representative and member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Council, said that “in the near future, we will see the opening of embassies in Iran and Egypt.”
