Erdogan’s phone call with the Saudi king

The Saudi king received a phone call from Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulating him on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the publication, King Salman of Saudi Arabia thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for this congratulation and asked God to accept fasts and good deeds and return goodness and blessings to the Muslim Ummah.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz to congratulate him on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

As Turkey seeks to improve relations with Arab countries, news sources reported that the Turkish president had made a telephone call to the Saudi king.

Following the reconciliation between Qatar and the four Arab states (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain), Turkey announced that it was ready to improve relations with all GCC member states, and Erdogan called these relations strategic.

Erdogan and the Saudi king last spoke by telephone in November 2020.

Last month, the Turkish president said that Riyadh had asked Turkey to buy drones.

Turkish-Saudi relations have soured since the assassination of prominent Saudi journalist Khashgechi in October 2018. Khashgechi, a critical Saudi journalist who worked for the Washington Post after fleeing Saudi Arabia, applied for a visa at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, 2018, after which he was disappeared. The Saudi journalist was brutally murdered at the scene, and according to Turkish intelligence, her body was dismembered and destroyed by a furnace.
