Continuing to violate the ceasefire in Yemen / the Saudi coalition is acting against the commitments to the United Nations

Pak Sahafat – Despite the UN special envoy’s request to the conflicting parties in Yemen to commit to adhering to the ceasefire, local Yemeni sources report the continued violation of the ceasefire by the aggressor Saudi coalition.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, A source in the Yemeni army’s communication and coordination operations room, which was formed to monitor Yemeni ceasefire violations, told Yemen’s official news agency (Saba) that in the past 24 hours, the Saudi coalition has violated the ceasefire 143 times.

He emphasized that among the violations, we can mention 6 flights of warplanes in different areas of Najran, 32 flights of armed and spying drones in the skies of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Al-Jawf, Saada, Al-Hodeidah, Al-Dale Al-Bayda and other areas.

According to this report, 74 cases of ceasefire violations included shooting at civilian homes and army centers and Yemeni people’s committees in the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, and Al-Dha’a.

Also, 28 of these ceasefire violations are related to the artillery attacks of Yemeni mercenaries affiliated with the Saudi coalition, who attacked the positions of the Yemeni army and popular committees in the eastern areas of Balaq, al-Rawza, al-Dashush, and al-Talah in Marib.

The violation of the ceasefire by the Saudi coalition is announced a few days after the UN special envoy for Yemen affairs, Hans Grundberg, addressed the conflicting parties in this country on Wednesday night: I ask them to make the most of the opportunity of the extended ceasefire to commit and complete commitment to end the conflict.

Mehdi Al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, also announced: “Based on the implementation of the existing ceasefire, everyone should be on high alert, because the war is not over yet.”

The violation of the ceasefire occurs while the United Nations has convinced the warring parties in Yemen for the third time to extend the ceasefire for two months.

On June 12, Grandberg announced the two-month extension of the ceasefire in Yemen.

At the suggestion of the United Nations, a two-month ceasefire was established in Yemen from April 2 (13 April), the most important of which was the arrival of 18 ships carrying fuel to Hodeidah ports and allowing two weekly round-trip flights from Sana’a airport.

With the end of this cease-fire, which was repeatedly violated by the aggressor Saudi coalition, UN consultations began to renew it, and finally, today, the UN special envoy for Yemeni affairs announced that an agreement had been reached for its two-month extension.

The Supreme Political Council of Yemen emphasized not long ago that the extension of the ceasefire depends on the implementation of all the obligations of the previous period of the ceasefire and compensation for the damages caused by its violation.
