US terrorist forces are setting up a military base in the city of Makhmour, east of Mosul.
A security source in Nineveh province reported on Wednesday the suspicious movements of US terrorist forces.
He told Al-Maluma News Agency that US troops were setting up a military base in the town of Makhmour, east of Mosul.
The source said that the US military, in cooperation with the Peshmerga forces, began the construction of this military base in the Makhmour Mountains.
In this regard, Reza al-Dahlaki, an Iraqi military analyst, recently announced that the US government intends to establish air bases on the border between Kuwait and Iraq.
Al-Dahlaki added: “We contacted members of the Security and Defense Committee of the Iraqi parliament about this issue, but unfortunately they had no idea or information about this issue, and they rejected any comment or condemnation of this action on the pretext that they did not have enough information about it.”
The Iraqi analyst added that the US future plan in the region is similar to the plan made in Saudi Arabia for the construction of new military bases, and claimed that these measures are precautionary military plans that allow the provisional and temporary use of US forces in emergency situations.
He explained: Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, chief of the US Central Command (Centcom), recently announced that the bases, which will be built in Saudi Arabia and other Common Territories, “allow us to move to other bases in times of extreme danger.”
Al-Dahlaki stated that Iraq’s silence on the issue would impose a high cost on the country, strengthen the culture of keeping the Iraqi sky under foreign control on the one hand, and become a station to threaten the security of Iraq’s neighboring countries on the other.
