Boris Johnson rejected lobbying in favor of Bin salman

The British Prime Minister has rejected lobbying for the purchase of an English football club by a consortium affiliated with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.

As the British Prime Minister’s illegal lobbying escalated, the British government denied involvement in a deal in favor of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

According to Sputnik news agency, “Max Blaine”, the spokesman of the British Prime Minister, rejected the media report in this regard and said: “The Prime Minister has asked Lord [Eddie] Lister [his senior aide] to consider the progress of these negotiations as a potential foreign investment in Britain.”

A spokesman for the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, added: “He did not ask for any intervention. The Prime Minister did not intervene. The government did not intervene at any point in the talks.”

A Saudi consortium affiliated with Bin salman planned to buy English club Newcastle last year, which was approved by the club’s chairman. However, widespread protests against the sale of the club to the person involved in the assassination of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashgechi ultimately prevented the deal from taking place.

The English Football League has rejected Newcastle’s sale to the consortium, calling it an arm of the Saudi government.

The Daily Mail recently reported that Bin Salman had asked Boris Johnson through the WhatsApp messenger to ask the English Football League to “reconsider its decision and correct its wrong conclusion”.

Johnson’s lobbying for Bin salman came under media scrutiny after the British Sun newspaper began investigating former Prime Minister David Cameron’s lobbying for the post of prime minister for Lex Greensill, a businessman.

According to the report, while Cameron was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2016, he has appointed the Australian banker as a government adviser. Instead, after leaving the government, Greensell Finance and Investment Company appointed Cameron as its advisor.

In his first reaction to the revelation, the former British Prime Minister said that he had not violated any rules of conduct or any government law during his term in office.
