Approval of the resolution promoting relations with Iran in the Brazilian Senate

A resolution was passed by a consensus of Brazilian senators in the recent session of the Senate, announcing the formation of a parliamentary friendship group in this parliament with the aim of developing Iran-Brazil relations.

According to the report, the resolution, which was first introduced in the Brazilian Senate and approved at Tuesday’s meeting, referred to the 118-year history of Brazil-Iran relations and showed the importance of these relations, especially trade relations for the two countries. The role of the Brazilian Congress in promoting bilateral relations is emphasized.

Earlier, a friendship group between Brazil and Iran was formed in the House of Representatives, and thus two strong parliamentary groups are activated in both houses to pursue relations with Iran.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Brazil, Hossein Gharibi, in contact with the senators supporting the resolution, especially the main supporter, Senator Favaro, while appreciating this worthy action and pointing to the position of the two countries’ parliaments in reflecting the will of the two nations, established long-term ties and he knew Iran’s friends in Brazil and said: Expanding and stabilizing bilateral relations and removing possible obstacles to strengthen and enhance relations in all its dimensions in the post-Crown period is one of the most important features of the parliamentary friendship group between the two countries.

According to IRNA, Iran-Brazil trade relations amount to billions of dollars annually and Iran is one of the most important economic partners of Brazil in the region. In recent years, Iranian businessmen have expanded their activities in this most important country in South America and one of the largest emerging economies in the world.
