A human rights organization in France has sued a former Saudi intelligence official

A human rights organization in France has filed a lawsuit against Ahmed Asiri, a former deputy head of the Saudi intelligence service.

William Bourdain, a human rights organization in France, has sued Ahmad Asiri, a former deputy head of the Saudi intelligence service, a former spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen, and people very close to Mohammed bin Salman in connection with the assassination of Jamal Khashgechi.

According to the website of Euronews, in the lawsuit of this human rights organization, “Ahmad Asiri” was accused of physically and mentally torturing “Jamal Khashgechi”, a critical and late Saudi journalist, and since French courts do not have legal jurisdiction to investigate murder crimes. , The petition uses the term “torture” instead of murder.

Announcing that Ahmed Asiri now resides in France, or at least regularly travels to France, the human rights organization William Bourdain said that French courts are paying close attention to the arrest of torture suspects if they are present in the country. .

Ahmad Asiri, one of the first-degree defendants in the heinous murder of Jamal Khashgechi, continues to live freely without any punishment.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia removed him from office in October 2018, but never punished him.

In 2019, the Saudi prosecutor announced that “Ahmad Asiri” had been tried and acquitted; the verdict, which was ridiculed by human rights activists, as well as by UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial killings, Agnes Kalamar, described the trials as “unjust and ridiculous.”
