Amnesty International, in a report referring to the suffering of Hassan Mashima in a Bahraini prison, called him one of the most important political prisoners in the world.

Amnesty International reports that Hassan Mashima, a political prisoner in Bahrain, has been held for 3,730 days, excluding previous detainees.

Referring to the role of the leadership in the peaceful protests during the 2011 Bahraini revolution, the report states that he is one of the most important prisoners in the world suffering in a Bahraini prison.

According to Amnesty International, the Amnesty International report also states that the deteriorating human rights situation in Bahrain has attracted the attention of many human rights experts and activists.

International movements have previously led to the release of several political prisoners in Bahrain, including Nabil Rajab and Najah Youssef, but the release did not include 73-year-old Hassan Moshima.

As a leader of the Bahraini opposition and a human rights activist in Bahrain, Mashima has been sentenced to prison for participating in the 2011 revolutionary activities.

He was first arrested in 1995 for his political and legal activities and was re-arrested after his release.

In 2002, he was elected Secretary General of the Al-Wefaq Party, and in 2005, he was elected Secretary General of the Al-Haq Movement, the most important movement for the protection of freedom and human rights in Bahrain.

International movements for’s release have expanded, with the Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain and the European Center for Democracy and Human Rights launching a website to demand his release.
