The UAE has sent new “foreign mercenaries” to the southern Yemeni island

An official in the resigned Yemeni government revealed that the UAE has sent foreign mercenaries to strengthen its hegemony over the southern Yemeni island.

Mukhtar al-Rahbi, an adviser to the Minister of Information of the government of Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi (resigned and fugitive Yemeni President), announced that the UAE is sending foreign mercenaries to southern Yemen.

According to the Yemeni news website YNP, the official in Mansour Hadi’s government said, the UAE recently sent militants of various nationalities to the Socotra archipelago in the southern waters of Yemen, with the aim of consolidating its influence on the island.

The UAE has deployed and supported militias in several southern Yemeni provinces, a number of important Yemeni islands including Socotra and Muon, and a number of major ports including the port of Aden and areas close to the Bab al-Mand strategic strait (in Taiz province) in this respect is in conflict with the Hadi government, which is supported by Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, local sources on the island of Socotra said that an Emirati plane carrying a new number of foreign mercenaries had recently landed in the Murray area, parallel to the airport and other areas.
