Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul has called for strengthening militarization of Afghanistan to counter the Taliban, warning that militarization is dangerous for the country’s future.
According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency , Pakistani ambassador to Kabul Mansour Ahmad Khan called on the international community to help strengthen the Afghan security forces and warned that militarization against the Taliban could worsen the situation in the country.

Mansour Khan told AFP: “If the situation turns into a kind of war between the militia and the Taliban, it will be dangerous.” Therefore, it is important to strengthen the Afghan government’s capacity to defend itself against these attacks and these security challenges.

He stressed that more international cooperation is needed to support Ashraf Ghani’s government because it is now the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

“Therefore, all countries, the international community, must provide all possible support to Afghanistan to meet these security challenges,” Khan added.

The Pakistani ambassador also expressed concern that the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan could trigger a new wave of Afghan refugees.

“The government is ready to arm the popular mobilization forces against the Taliban as much as necessary and provide them with ammunition and other military facilities,” said Naqibullah Fayek, the Afghan Interior Ministry’s deputy for policy and strategy.

He said that if the people in any province are ready, the Ministries of Defense and Interior, as well as other security agencies, will provide them with military and financial facilities.
