US-made weapons and military equipment in the hands of the Taliban

The US Central Command announced on Tuesday that 90% of the process of withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan has been completed.

The United States has officially transferred seven of its military installations to the Afghan Ministry of Defense, according to a July 6 news release.

At the same time as the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, Taliban influence in the region continues to rise, from the acquisition of US-made weapons to the capture of various parts of Afghanistan.

A Taliban commander told the British media that Taliban militants had seized some weapons and military equipment from Afghan government forces: 70 sniper rifles, 900 rifles, 30 armored vehicles, 20 armored pickups and 15 armored trucks.

According to the British media, many of the items prepared by the Afghan army that have been seized by the Taliban have the mark of “US government property”.
