Taliban: The Kabul government is a tool to advance foreign goals in Afghanistan

The Taliban said the Afghan government was created as a result of foreign occupation and was a means to advance foreign goals in Afghanistan.

Referring to the large-scale surrender of Afghan security forces and the handover of bases and cities to the group, the Taliban called it a sign of the “decline” of the Afghan government and claimed that Afghan forces had concluded that the current government was “not worth defending and sacrificing”.

Statement added: This government was created as a result of foreign occupation and is a means to advance the goals of the occupiers in Afghanistan; Hence, now the whole nation and even the soldiers themselves have turned away from it, leaving the ranks in groups.

The Taliban called the surrender of Afghan forces “commendable” and stressed that by doing so, the war would be stopped, peace would be achieved step by step, and the nation would achieve its 20-year “jihad” goals.

Addressing other foreign parties in the Afghan war, the group said: As much as Afghans hate foreign aggressors, they do not recognize the government they create.

The statement added: Our nation has come to the conclusion that an independent Islamic government should be established in Afghanistan, a government that represents the religious and national will of our nation and protects the goals of our jihad.

It is worth mentioning that in the last two months, about 20 cities and bases of the security forces have been captured by the Taliban, and in many cases, the cities and bases have been handed over to the Taliban through the mediation of local influential people.

The surrender of the security forces is reportedly usually the work of the Taliban’s “Invitation and Guidance” committee, which, after cutting off roads and supply lines, contacts Afghan military commanders or their families and offers their lives in exchange for surrendering positions, weapons and ammunition.

Last week, the Afghan Interior Ministry, in response to the handover of security checkpoints and bases to the Taliban, called the move a direct collaboration with the enemy, stressing that several people have been arrested so far and that mediators have already been arrested.
