Belfast called for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Northern Ireland

Belfast City Council approved a bill calling for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Northern Ireland and Britain, and a demonstration was held in front of the Irish Foreign Ministry in Dublin.

Belfast City Council, the capital of Northern Ireland, approved a bill on Saturday evening (Tehran time) calling for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador to the country and Britain.

At the same time in the Republic of Ireland, pro-Palestinian students and activists demonstrated in front of the Foreign Office in Dublin, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Demonstrators chanted anti-Israel slogans and demanded the immediate expulsion of the Israeli ambassador to Dublin.

The plan to expel the Israeli ambassadors from Britain by Fiona Ferguson, a member of the “People before Profit” association, is to be discussed in Belfast City Council.

The plan emphasizes that the Zionist regime’s military operation in Gaza is “a continuation of the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians and the development of illegal settlements is a clear violation of international law.”

Part of this plan states: “A growing list of human rights organizations, such as the latest Human Rights Watch report, identifies Israel’s actions as apartheid.”

The plan then emphasizes the following: “Normal cooperation with the Israeli government is not defensible in this situation.”

The plan emphasizes the support of the people of Northern Ireland for the Palestinian people: “The council (Belfast City Council) recognizes the rich history of solidarity and activism of all communities in Belfast in support of Palestine, and one of these supports is in recent days, when there were widespread protests in which people called for an end to Israeli ill-treatment of the Palestinians, and such solidarity among our citizens could be an important tool in stopping our support for Israeli actions.

The author of this plan then emphasized: “Belfast City Council therefore condemns the actions of the Israeli government and agrees to send a petition to the Government of Ireland and the United Kingdom asking them to expel the Israeli ambassadors immediately.”

The recent actions of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians have provoked a great deal of reaction in the world public opinion, and widespread protests against these actions took place all over the world, and the people of the world demanded an end to the Tel Aviv violence against the Palestinian people.
