The White House has no plans to lift sanctions against the Taliban

The White House has said it has no plans to lift or reduce sanctions against the Taliban.

“We have not eased the pressure of sanctions on Taliban leaders or significant restrictions on their access to the international financial system,” White House spokesman Jen Saki told reporters about the lifting of sanctions against the Taliban.

The White House spokesman also added that we will judge the Taliban based on their actions and will coordinate with the international community in any action.

The Taliban, meanwhile, has said it wants good relations with all Afghan countries and factions and called on the international community to continue investing in Afghanistan.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said at Kabul airport: The most important thing is our national unity and integrity, which is why we need all the experts and economic specialists to take the lead and draw a roadmap for the future.

He added: I invite all of you to come and invest in Afghanistan. Your investment will be maintained and the country will be stable and secure.

The Taliban spokesman’s remarks come as the World Bank announced last week that it was temporarily suspending financial support to Afghanistan amid concerns about the fate of women in Afghanistan’s new era.

“We are very concerned about the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the country’s development prospects, especially for women,” World Bank spokeswoman Marcella Sanchez Bandar told CNN Business.

According to the World Bank website, the donor has pledged more than $ 5.3 billion for development projects in Afghanistan, and the Afghanistan Reconstruction Fund, managed by the World Bank, has so far raised more than $ 12.9 billion.
