Afghanistan free of foreign occupiers / US ambassador leaves Kabul

It was previously reported that 300,000 US colleagues and their families are in Afghanistan, indicating that more than half of them have left.

The Pentagon has announced the end of its mission in Afghanistan

The US Department of Defense has confirmed the end of its 20-year presence in Afghanistan.

According to Sputnik, Pentagon spokesman Gen. Kenneth McKenzie said US troops had withdrawn from Afghanistan and that the mission in the country was now over.

“With the withdrawal of troops, the 20-year mission will end,” he said during a briefing.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said: The operation in Afghanistan will end soon, but our efforts to support relief work will continue, and although it is a dangerous mission, we have the power to continue the operation with the withdrawal of our forces.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (Centcom) announced that the US ambassador had left Afghanistan with the last flight.
